Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should we book you?

There's no right answer here. I tend to get booked anywhere from 1-2 years in advance. However, if shotgun Weddings are your thing, it's always worth checking late in the day to see if I'm available.

As a rule of thumb, once you have set your date and got your venue sorted, then it's time to book your key suppliers.

Do you require a booking fee/deposit?

Yes. Dates can be secured with just a £300 non-refundable booking fee. This is then deducted from the total cost of your chosen package.

When is the remaining balance due?

3 weeks before the Wedding.

We're getting Married abroad? Do You Travel Outside of the UK?

Hell yeah! Sign me up, I'm in. I love nothing more than to travel so get in touch and tell us what you're planning. I can guarantee I will be just as excited as you!

Can we meet you before booking?

Out of all your suppliers, chances are you will spend the most amount of time with your photographer, so I always recommend meeting before booking to ensure we get on and feel comfortable with each other in order to get the best out of each other.

We can meet in person or via Zoom.

How long do we have to wait to receive our photos?

I get it - you're itching to see your photos. That's why I always share up to 100 previews within a couple of days of the Wedding so you have something to post to your socials etc.

During peak Wedding season it can take anywhere up to 8-12 weeks to receive your full gallery whilst I work on them, but it can often be sooner.

Where are you based?

I'm are based in South Wales, but cover Weddings all over the UK. I'm regularly in Pembrokeshire, Gower, Cardiff, Bristol, Gloucester, The Cotswolds, Bath, Oxford etc.

Are you Insured?

Absolutely. I have Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance. Some venues may ask you for proof of my insurance. If that's the case, just let me know.

What is your approach on formal group shots and how many would you advise?

Whilst it's nice to have a small number of formal posed group shots I would recommend no more than 6-10 shots with immediate family. If you're looking for 20 different combinations of formal posed shots, I'm probably not the photographer for you due to my style being mainly documentary/reportage focused. Chances are, I will have captured far more natural photos of you and your loved ones without the awkward "cheeeeese".

Believe me, you'll thank me.

Can you recommend some other suppliers?

Definitely. I've worked with some incredible wedding suppliers over the years and I'm more than happy to put you in touch with them.

Do You Have a Second Shooter?

Not as standard but a second shooter can be added to your package.

Having a second shooter means that both partners can have their morning prep captured if getting ready in different locations. It also means that you get an alternate perspective on the day and lots more documentary style photos.

Will it be you that photographs our Wedding or do you out source?

It will always be me.

In the unlikely event of me not being able to cover your Wedding due to illness/unforeseen events, I will work with you to arrange another photographer to cover your Wedding.

Since (dare I say the word) Covid, I have been part of an online community of photographers of a similar style to me, that cover each other in circumstances such as this.
